>Heaven's very own Christmas Tree

>The “Christmas Tree” has become a somewhat iconic symbol within society today. Usually an evergreen coniferous tree is brought into the house, decorated with tinsel, lights and baubles with an angel or star being placed on the top. It has mainly been associated with the Christian aspect of this festival, however, some argue that it has its roots within paganism of the Germanic empire. Whatever its human origin, we cannot deny that the Christmas would seem somewhat empty in many homes, certainly in the northern hemisphere, without such a decorated plant!

Well let me point you to another kind of Christmas Tree that is not man-made that you may not be aware of, adorning the heaven’s with bursts of swirling gases that look like blue baubles, and a star on top! It is known as the Christmas Tree Star cluster, stretching across the heaven’s for 30 light years (whatever that means), and can be seen with a good pair of binoculars.

It was first discovered by William Herschel in the late 18th century. European Southern Observatory captured the breathtaking picture of the Christmas Tree Star Cluster over more than 10 hours using the Wide Field Imager in Chile.
