>Day 1: Retreat Reflections – A Pleasant View

>It’s been a while… May brought an unexpected “Blog break”… for no major reason, it was just the way it happened. I’m not promising to make it everyday in June, in fact, I presume there will be days where the blogging bug-roll will cease to exist!!

This week I invite you to join with me on a smal little journey, set in the Welsh countryside at a little place called “Pleasant View” – and a pleasant view it is indeed. As I sit typing this blurb I can see for miles into Wales, it is truly stunning and the photos I know, are unlikely to capture its full beauty.

So, what do you “do” on a retreat? One where there is nobody else around… no TV… nothing except cows… Well not strictly true – even here in the midst of “nowhere” there is a mobile signal…and I am cheating somewhat by bringing my laptop…My excuse is that it’s where all my music is, and I do have a sermon to prepare…and pen ‘n’ paper is obviously obsolete in today’s society… So perhaps this is a more “modern retreat”?

The dilemma still exists… what are retreats about? What do you “do”? Should I be setting forth what I hope to gain from this time, such as deepening relationship with God, being refreshed, reading… etc etc… I could go on… WELL, for me this is an unknown time, and time by which I at least hope will be lead by the Lord. Yes, I have a sermon slot approaching, and I am seeking God for what to speak on, and how to speak… So, join me on a somewhat unknown journey… I hope the destination is good?!?
