The Muppets Bohemian Rhapsody

>Have the Muppets gone politically correct??

Just out of interest,
“the original had Freddy Mercury singing about ‘Bismillah’ -  the opening word in the Qu’ran (Koran) which is translated ‘In the name of Allah’:

Bismillah! No – we will not let you go – let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go – let him go
Bismillah! We will not let you go – let me go”

As Cranmer goes on to say:
“this lyric does not appear in the Muppet version: it is supplanted by incomprehensible gibberish.

Presumably, it is completely excised so as not to offend some hyper-sensitive Muslims or to cause the invocation of a fatwah on Kermit or Gonzo. After all, we could not have Miss Piggy invoking the name of Allah, could we?” Cranmer

Ah, what the heck? Who cares – I love the Muppets and their usual gibberish – nothing new there. I bet most people never knew “Bismillah” was even near a reference to “the name of Allah” -  I certainly didn’t until Archbishop Cranmer kindly pointed it out!

Beelzebub seems missing as well (in the original version He-Has-A-Dev-il-Put-A-Side-For-Me! For-Me! For-MEEEEEEE!)
